Jessica and I have been watching old episodes of LOST (Seasons 2 and 3) the past few days. We’re about to finish season 3 within the hour and will start on Season 4 tonight. :)

It’s not easy getting back into this after taking a week off. My left leg started burning about 20 minutes in, so I slowed it down for a while and sped it back up.

…because Michael is an atheist and I am Lutheran.
I think that this is probably the biggest reason why I am not ready to have/adopt/foster kids with Michael. We have such differing views on religion and I wouldn’t want to bring a child into our argument. I would want to take said child to church and send to a parochial school. Michael is a public school teacher and...

As health care costs continued to rise and our members’ utilization of health care services continued to increase, we found it necessary to change the benefits structure of our Personal Choice plans to keep premiums as affordable as possible.

UGGs make you look immature and self-unaware. I can’t tell you how many times I have been attracted to a woman until I noticed her UGGs. Is she a high schooler trying to look older? Is she a college-age sorority robot? Is she a post-college arrested-development wanna-be? Either way, I’m not interested, and neither are my extremely attractive, sophisticated friends.
I know the above...

Why does this good atheist family cling to Santa and why is Christmas our favorite holiday? We explain this every year, because for reasons we don’t understand atheists aren’t supposed to like Christmas. But lots of us do.
I’d be curious to find out how many atheists among us on Tumblr like Christmas, too.

Today I didn’t go to the same church. I went to the church my wife grew up going to. This service was possibly set up a little different because it was Christmas Eve. There was a lot of singing…my mother in law was in the church choir. One thing I noticed, my wife is hooked on the NIV bible, yet at this church they use ESV, curious.
The service started out with a song and...

1) The X in X-mas is not a serious issue, if it is for you, it may merely reveal an ignorance of Church History.
2) Jesus was not born on December 25. Seriously, He wasn’t.
3) The wise men did not show up at the manger scene. More than likely they showed up years later. They also did not smell like smoke, even though they “came from a fire.’”
4) Contrary to the scene on your...

I saw Bill’s post on this and liked the idea very much. I also thought his picks were very appropriate in spanning the decade. I don’t know that mine will be as good as his, but it’s worth a try. I will probably have to look up some release dates so they’re not all from 2007.

Radical New Idea: Medicare Buy-In For Everyone
You only need 51 senators to pass a bill through reconciliation. But theoretically the main problem with reconciliation is that it can only be used for legislation that affects the budget. So, a public option or Medicare buy-in would definitely affect the budget, but getting rid of insurance practices like barring people for pre-existing conditions or denying them care through rescission could not...
