ARE YOU READY FOR A REVOLUTION!?!

Yes, who will be our progressive leader?

One of my favorite movies - although I would highly discourage people taking ideas in this movie seriously.
Why do we need a progressive leader? Why can’t we just have a leader that we can trust, will keep their word and get the damn job done.  I am so tired of fu***** lables.  Dem - Rep - Liberal - Conservative.  Who gives a crap, is there not one decent person in the world that will speak the truth, stand behind it, and be somewhat moraly grounded?  I don’t think people would know how to react if someone like myself were to be involved in a debate on nationaly TV.  I would like ot think I would not be afraid to say the things I say to my wife/friends every other day.

My response was more of the tongue in cheek type referring to our current leader who ran on a progressive stance and has yet to act like it.  I’m ok with labels, especially the way I use them.  When I say progressive, I mean someone who is for progress.  When I say conservative, I mean someone who is looking to conserve resources.  I believe that in most cases I am a fiscal conservative.  I am always looking to use the least amount of resources in the most efficient way in order to accomplish what we need.
To answer your question, I think that people would receive you on tv the same way they would recieve any other libertarian.   I’m sorry,  I know you don’t like labels.  You are relatively socially liberal and fiscally conservative. There is just a point where the extreme libertarianism can’t work, some government is necessary. I really think the difference between you and I is the compassion factor.  When we look at an issue like “health care, you see yourself and what you will have to contribute to it and can’t stand the idea because to you it is a waste of your money.  I see it and see a decent idea that will help people, but I would like to do things as fiscally responsible as possible.  I am probably with you in the idea that there are a lot of government beauracracies that could probably be streamlined in order to increase efficiency.

Anyone who honestly examines the data supporting evolution—even a young-earth creationist—concludes that the science is strong.

If you reject evolution, you are doing it for religious reasons. You’re entitled to your religious opinions—but not to your own scientific facts.
